  FS All-Steel Lock-Nut
Competent and reliable even under extreme pressure!

Previously unsolved fastening problems at dynamically highly stressed threaded joints have lead to the development of the FS All-Steel Lock-Nut. It has a flexible, fully threaded locking element which is fitted into the nut body; thus offering double security at the highest standard.

IAs opposed to competitors' lock-nuts, the FS All-Steel Lock-Nut can be applied universally. Thanks to its patented design which combines all the elements required for a safe threaded connection such as re-usability, heat resistance, protection of the counter thread and a narrow tolerance of the locking torque.

The FS All-Steel Lock-Nut can be re-used numerous times without suffering a significant loss of its locking capability. Even after tightening and loosening the lock-nut 15 times, it still exceeds the required values stated in the DIN EN ISO 2320.

Flaig + Hommel is world-renowned as the manufacturer of the FS All-Steel Lock-Nut and for decades has been a reliable partner to the automotive and railway industries.

Basic Advantages

  • The FS All-Steel Lock-Nut offers double security as the locking element works in both radial and axial direction and causes an even pinch effect to affect the whole width (360°) of the screw thread.
  • The locking element contains an offset standard thread which prevents the counter thread from getting damaged.
  • Economical storage thanks to universal applicability.

Assembly Advantages

  • Economical, space-saving and automatable assembly instead of castellated nuts with split pins, clamping nuts, counter nuts etc.

Technical Advantages

  • During manufacturing the clamping force can be adjusted to very narrow tolerances as required. d
  • The FS All-Steel Lock-Nut can withstand temperatures of up to 1000°C. For application in temperatures higher than 300°C suitable heat-resistant materials are used to suit the specific circumstance.
  • A high resistance to stripping is warranted as the load bearing threads comply with the standard DIN EN ISO 2320.
  • FS All-Steel Lock-Nuts comply with standards DIN EN ISO 7042 / DIN EN ISO 10512, DIN 6925, DIN 980 M and DIN 6927 / DIN EN ISO 1667 / DIN EN ISO 1664 (flange nut). Special height-reduced designs are possible.

Benefits

  • Reliable even in complicated screwed connections such as on turbochargers, exhaust manifolds, catalysts, highly stressed gearboxes, compressors and vibrating machine components.
  • The FS All-Steel Lock-Nut has proven itself over many years and has created a host of new solutions to old problems.
  • Modern heat treatment technologies achieve a higher corrosion resistance than was previously possibly by galvanizing without inducing hydrogen embrittlement.
